St Paul Preschool Open House, March 5th, 11:00am – 12:30pm

·        Know anyone with a 4 or 5 year old that might be interested in preschool? If so, be sure to share the date and time of our excellent preschool’s open house!

Holy Week and Easter

·        The Lenten mid week schedule of 7:10pm Wednesday services at West Bend and 6pm Thursday services at Emmetsburg conclude with Holy Week which begins on Palm Sunday, March 16th.

·        Maundy Thursday, March 20th, the theme is “Remorseful Tears: Jesus’ Betrayers End His Life”. Good Friday, March 21st, the theme is “The Way of Tears: Jerusalem’s Women Mourn the Savior”

·        Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services both begin in Emmetsburg at 5:30pm and in West Bend at 7:30pm. There will be Holy Communion on Maundy Thursday.

·        Easter Services will be celebrated in Emmetsburg at 10am. West Bend has yet to decide if it wishes to hold a sunrise service or keep Easter church at 8am.

Youth Meetings

·        High school youth continue to meet monthly.

·        Mid week school students plan a bowling trip in March.

St Paul Fellowship Club

·        On Monday, March 3rd, all are invited to join the fellowship club as its members visit the home of John Davis to view the miniature train system he has worked on for many years. Meet at John’s home at 6pm and after viewing the trains head to church for food.

·        The fellowship club meets monthly and is the congregation’s organization supporting Lutheran Hour Ministries. The fellowship club also supports the congregations ministry in various ways as seen for example in the Christmas packages it organized last year. The fellowship club invites church members to attend its meetings.

Peace Friday Pot Luck and the Congregation’s Children

·        Members of the Peace Friday pot luck participants have for some time taken it upon themselves to adopt children of the congregation as church grandchildren.

·        The Friday pot luck folks look forward to a one time change in the time of their gatherings so that the congregation’s children can join them.

Lutheran Hour Ministries

·        Lutheran Hour Ministries shares the Gospel in many ways, but its oldest and most well known work is the broadcast of the Lutheran Hour which began in 1930. It is the world's longest-running, Christian outreach radio program. It proclaims the message of Jesus Christ to more than 1.2 million people each week over 800 radio stations across North America. It is also broadcast on the American Forces Network to reach military personnel and their families around the world.

Confirmands

·        St Paul confirmand is Mitchell Metz.

·        Peace confirmands are Tori Schneider, Jesse Abrahamson and Christopher Schmidt.

Mid Week School ends April 9th. Confirmation will be April 13th.

High School Graduates

·        St Paul’ seniors are: Aaron Janssen, Matthew Merideth, Chad Metz and Anna Chapman.

·        Peace’ seniors are: Lindsey Schmidt, Laura Banwart and Kari Zinnel.
